Clipboard cannot be emptied – another program might be using the clipboard Excel 2010

Symptoms
In Excel, when copying using the ctrl key there is an error: “Clipboard cannot be emptied – another program might be using the clipboard.”
Cause
Commonly, it is the SKYPE add-in in Internet Explorer.
How to fix
Disable or remove the Skype add-in.
To disable it:
1.Open internet Explorer
2. Select Tools then Internet Options
3. Select Programs then Manage Add-ons
4. select the Skype add-in and disable.
5. Select disable again
